Along the way to Santiago de Compostela

Getting used to the strict Spanish lunch and dinner times tooks some days to learn, but in fact it proved to be good routine to start walking early in the morning and arrive to next destination before 14.00 hrs, before lunctime. Quick shower, wash clothes, have lunch and then a few hours nap, "siesta". In the evening there was enough time to see local sights before going to sleep early. Alternatively Spanish bars are open all day for snacks "tapas" if I wanted to change my daily routine.

Eating out in Spain is a bargain, set meal "menu del día" is only 6-9 euros and that is three course meal, wine included. Local specialities should definitively be tried, like octobus "pulpo" in Galicia (in picture). The best "Pulperias" can be found at the town of Melide.
