Echoes from past |
Paco photographed
in front of Ermita de San Miquel outside Villatuerta. Paco told me
that these ermitas, small chapels, can be found outside most Spanish towns.
They are usually dedicated to some local saint. On a day of the saint villagers
walk to the chapel to celebrate him or her (see the white tables outside
the chapel). The happening is called Romeria, "a small pilgrimage", after
Romero, originally a pilgrim to Rome.
