Echoes from past

The Catheral  of Burgos. It is said to be one of the most beautiful in the Camino, rich mixture of medieval art styles and genres.

I must confess, I never went inside this catheral. The 9 kilometres walk from the outskirts of Burgos to the western edge of the city where the refugio is, was absolutely the hardest during the whole Camino. First endless walk through industrial area, kilometres after kilometres shadeless asphalt pavement, no place to sit and rest, huge trucks passing by raising dust and heavy fumes. Then another endless walk through the city itself trying to find the fading arrows through crowds and traffic. Everything before and after was piece of cake compared to that long walk through Burgos.
