A 13th
century castle, now in ruins, on a hill in Castrogeriz. The town is ideally
built on layers in a hill. In flat meseta the location was ideal for protection.
There is evidence of pre-Roman fortification on this hill, although the
legend says that Castrogeriz was founded by Julius Caesar.
