At the frontyard of the refugio in Ponferrrada there is a memorial
to a Finnish pilgrim who died on the Road. There are several memorials along the Camino. Most of the pilgrims who died had sudden seizures, some died because of the traffic. One of my fellow pilgrim's, a very nice lady in her 50's, died of a very unexpected seizure after having already reached her goal, Santiago de Compostela a few days ahead of me. My sincere condolences go to everybody, who had lost their loved ones on the Road. But at least it is going away with style, doing something one has dreamed of doing maybe for a long time.
