Although the signs were everywhere quite easy to find, still the road was absolutely best marked in Navarra. Quite the contrast to the medieval times! 12th pilgrim Aimery Picaud, a French cleric who is believed to be the author to the first guidebook of the pilgrimage "The Guide", warns against the dishonest and rude people of the region who only want rob poor pilgrims belongins.
