The pilgrim needs a credencial, a pilgrims
passport in order to be accepted to sleep in the pilgrim refugios along the
way. The refugios are solely intended for pilgrims tavelling on foor, by
bicycle or riding on horseback.
In practise very few, like this group photographed on the Bridge of Hospital de Orbigo, make the pilgrimage on horseback...
