Echoes from past

Here is the famous Puenta la Reina, Queens bridge, photographed from the modern bridge nearby. Puenta la Reina is said to be one of Europe's most graceful Romanesque bridges. No one knows precisely which one of the two queens of Navarrain in the 11th century, doña Estefania or doña Mayor  commissioned to build this bridge, but it came to great need to pilgrim's and other passengers. River Arga is here too deep to ford, and before the bridge the river had to be crossed by numerous ferries who exploited all the travellers.
